Luncile Prigoanei are situated in the south part of Alba county, in the Meridional Carpathian mountains, Sureanu Mountains with Sureanu peak (2080 m altitude) and Patru's peak (2130 m altitude); at 32 km of Obarsia Lotrului, 75 km of Sebes and 61 km of Petrosani.
